Sudoku rules

Sudoku is played on a 9 x 9 grid. There are 9 "squares" (consisting of 3 x 3 spaces) in rows and columns. Each row, column and square (9 cells each) must be filled with numbers from 1 to 9, without repeating any numbers in a row, column or square. Sounds difficult? Usually, on a real Sudoku grid, each Sudoku grid has several spaces already filled; the more gaps are filled, the easier the game is - in more difficult sudoku puzzles, there are very few gaps already filled.

Sudoku is a game of logic and reasoning so you don't have to guess. If you don't know which number to put in a certain spot, keep scanning other areas of the grid until you see an option to put a number. But don't try to "force" anything - Sudoku rewards patience, understanding, and pattern recognition, not blind luck or guesswork.
